Having just battled our way through the check-in process in Changsha, I can't help but think of the differences between Ecuador and China. I miss the days of courtesy and kindness to strangers. In China, verbal abuse almost seems the norm, whether you're taking too long to take a picture at a crowded viewpoint, or you can't find your room card at checkout.
This morning, we had an all hands knock down drag out argument with the other people in our check in line when the lady suddenly changed stations. Rather than moving over in an orderly manner, everyone made a mad dash all at once. My cousin's husband rushed to the front and was smacked down for cutting. Speaking of lines, Oscar and Ruby are perfecting proper shoving techniques needed just to maintain your place in line. Oy!
