We found a nice hotel in Ambato to spend tonight. Bonus -- there's cable and we can still watch the Super Bowl!
Tomorrow we head off the grid to commune with the llamas, alpacas and vicuñas on the slopes of Chimborazo.

Safety first
Despite the blasé attitude of all the Ecuadorians around us, we absconded from Baños today. Tungurahua kept on rumbling throughout the morning. Last night's eruptions were the biggest in recent memory. We knew that villages nearby had been evacuated. Having been through the Northridge Earthquake and 9/11, we decided to take no chances.
